For those who don’t know me, am a wife and mother first of all. I am also a seeker of deeper truths in God's Word and experientially knowing God more intimately. I have had a number of supernatural experiences throughout my life, but now that I am more accustomed to hearing God's voice and speaking prophetically to others, I'm finding that this way of life is not all that supernatural at all, since it is now natural and normal. As an intercessor, I am occasionally involved in the Medford Healing Rooms, where I get to care for people and see them set free from bondage through both physical and inner healing. Since my husband was a Christian camp director for 20 years with Mt. Hermon's Kidder Creek Camp, we now go together to Costa Rica each year to volunteer for Campamento Roblealto. I do some singing on a couple of small worship teams and I attend New Song Church in Medford, Oregon, where I am often involved in power evangelism outreach teams, where I have a lot of fun getting words of knowledge from the Lord about total strangers and giving them prophetic words. Professionally, I am a semi-retired history and English teacher. I am also an administrative assistant for our home-based Labrador Retriever breeding and training business (MMKennels.com).
I have a broad array of interests, including natural medicine, landscaping, organic gardening, protecting children from domestic violence, counseling women in abusive relationships, international travel, foreign languages, homesteading, interior decorating, cooking, and creating murder mystery parties. I also like whitewater rafting, mountain lion and bear hunting with my husband (I take photos; he does the actual hunting), and horse-packing. There are so many new places to explore, new things to experience, and so little time!
My husband is a very good and kind man and I love him dearly. I am the mother of five truly remarkable children in a blended family. If you have been reading my blogs on abuse in Christian marriages, you know that I was in an abusive marriage before I divorced and remarried Pete. The contrast between Pete and my ex-husband is like heaven vs. hell. I hate family violence. I hate what it does to families and children. Because of my experience, I now voluntarily do what I can to end family violence, spousal abuse, and child abuse at a grassroots level by blogging, non-professionally counseling women in abusive relationships, and working with Casey Gwinn’s Camp Hope via Family Justice Centers.
Thanks for visiting my blog!
